Tracy Morgan is a rasist, why would white people go see this

So he rants an rants and shouts out racist remarks about white people an yet hollywood gives him a pass to be in even more commercials and movies. This ass should be digging ditches somewhere in hollywood. Course, the blacks make racist comments all the time.. Chris Rock an his happy white forth of july rant recently.. an yet they get no backlash from hollywood. and the small number of dumb whites that make a racist black comment get condemned to never work again in their life.
It baffles the mind.

That's just the society we live in. It's a fact that racism from whites is taken much more seriously than from others. Double standards exist in most aspects of life. While I dont agree with it, I can separate the character from the man, and find life more enjoyable for it.

Fact: 87.3% of IMDB users belong to the secret society of cynics.

Racism is essentially based on power, a dominant group over a minority. When it's a white person discriminating over any minority, it's a racist act, we all know that.

When it's a minority, like a black person, saying something negative about white society... Sorry, it's not racism. It's rudeness and hate, sure. But white folks haven't faced centuries of oppression like other groups.

A was kind of agreeing with the OP a little, but you make a very good point. Hadn't heard that argument yet. Kudos.

Hard to take you seriously when you know even know how to spell racist

He keeps getting job offers just to annoy you, and it is working, so he will keep on getting and accepting them.

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.

What did Morgan say that was racist?

Why not write to the big tv and film studios and point out that he is racist and no to employ him. Thy will either listen to you or not.

Its that man again!!

I agree with Obsessive to a certain extent. I do not believe that non-white groups can't be racist. Any kind of bias that lumps everyone of a certain group into negative characterizations IS racism, just by definition.

I believe the distinction Obsessive is trying to make is that institutionalized racism toward non-whites is so prevalent (and accepted) that those groups are often treated differently and/or excluded from the same privileges as the rest of society.

The latest argument of "pulling the race card" is just another way that SOME people dismiss and discount the validity of the issue that many non-whites STILL face. It silences the victims of racial bias for fear that they will be seen as liars, trouble-makers or not knowing "their place." No, slavery isn't legal any more but many, many types of racial hatred/biases are still around and silencing those that speak out about it keeps the hatred growing on all sides.
