One scene which spoiled the 'realism' (spoiler)

The scene where the main guy and his wife witness the face in the trees, there is no way that when one witness something like that and then decide "hell ill go back into the forest never mind my terrified wife and go try and find it". That spoiled it for me and completely took me out of the feel of this being real events / footage. Almost proved by the obvious fictional finale..
