Great movie!

I found Another Kind to be a great movie. Not perfect, but pleasantly entertaining. If I'd seen it when I was a child, I would've been mondo scared as movies about aliens (seen or unseen) always scared me.

Surprised there's no other comments yet about this movie. Let the comments begin. ;-)

I was so hesitant to watch this movie at first, especially seeing that there were zero comments on this board. It would seem as though the movie was non existent. Although I wouldn't say that the characters were all that likeable, I would have to say that the drama, filming and intensity was pretty decent. There were some chilling moments of unique surprises. The ending was quite blunt about what was happening, although it didn't quite explain some of the oddities I noticed throughout the film.
Thanks jabberttp for the recommendation!

Yes, Another Kind is a good movie of its type. Definitely not for everyone, but the steadily increasing eeriness of the atmosphere is intense and powerful. One of the reviews mentions a similarity to YellowBrickRoad, which is spot on. Although the stories are different in premise and cause (YBR is much more mysterious and paranormal), the feel of both films is similar. I think that's a good thing, and I think if you like one you'll like the other. If don't, you won't.

I found Nate and Laura quite likable, especially as the movie progresses, trouble builds and their true characters come through. Neither is perfect, but they seemed like real people, and pretty nice ones at that. I liked them well enough to want to know what happened to Nate at the end.

Good movie. Definitely one of the better "alien" movies that have been coming out as of late.

That being said i think a great twist and addition to the story would have been if they simply decided to murder Jamie because she would not shut the *beep* up, and then just went along with their little camping trip.

Yes, because the audience always sympathises with murderers... If they'd have murdered Jamie, all intelligent people in the audience wouldn't give two squits about what happened to them out in the woods. Keep your job at 7-11, genius.

That was kinda snarky, wasn't it? Damn right.

This film was very eerie and absorbing. I especially liked how the overall ambiguity of the plotting kept me guessing about what was really happening right to the end.
