The Dark Knight Rises Fits in Nicely
In terms of continuity with 'The Joker Blogs'.
shareYeah, good thing 8 years passed between The Dark Knight and Dark Knight Rises. Still looking forward to how they handle Bats' 8 year hiatus.
shareNo, because Rises firmly established that the day Dent "Died?" was the last time the Batman was active.
"When the chips are down... these Civilized people... will Eat each Other"
They said it was the last 'confirmed' sighting of the Batman.
shareA video posted on Youtube is certainly Confirmed. But thaws besides the point, the scenes with Bruce clearly show that he hang up the Cape immediately.
"When the chips are down... these Civilized people... will Eat each Other"
They imply it. They don't render it immutable fact. Besides, I think there's a scene later in the film where it's said that Wayne went into seclusion once the energy project became dangerous, which was four years after the events of 'The Dark Knight'.
shareIt thematically doesn't fit, TDKR tells us Gotham got better pretty quickly as the events of TDK, The Joker Blogs follows TDK's theme of Escalation.
TDKR is a great movie on it's own, but I actually don't like it as a Trilogy. The Joker Blogs is much more like how TDK should be followed up.
Yes, but my point is why separate the two from each other if there is a way that they can both be connected? Besides, the series has a great opportunity to show the implementation of the Dent Act, as well as explaining why the Joker doesn't appear again.
shareI'm hoping the series has a different scenario for how the Truth about Dent comes out. Jeramiah Arkham made some veiled threat about keeping Gordon's Secret, I believe that means Dent isn't Dead but is in Arkham.
"When the chips are down... these Civilized people... will Eat each Other"
Personally, I think that it would be a bad move to deliberately contradict 'The Dark Knight Rises', just because it would upset people, me included.
shareIt's contradicted it already.
"When the chips are down... these Civilized people... will Eat each Other"
Only thematically, and really that doesn't matter.
shareIt matters to me, I like Rises on it's own, but it's not how I wanted TDK to be followed up, this I view as the correct alternative, it should not be limited by Rises's continuity.
"When the chips are down... these Civilized people... will Eat each Other"
Well, you and I will have to respectfully disagree on that matter. Personally, I will be hurt if they deliberately try to contradict 'The Dark Knight Rises'.
shareThey definitely have with the latest episode, I'm pretty sure in Rises Catwoman is unlikely to have been active in Gotham before.
"When the chips are down... these Civilized people... will Eat each Other"
Hardly. They say she has quite a history in the film. Also, 'The Joker Blogs' people made a lot of thematic ties with the film. And the casting of the Anne Hathaway-lookalike means the continuity of 'Rises' may still be honoured. We'll just have to wait and see.
shareShe's not a Hathaway look alike at all, I think I recognize her from somewhere, but I'm not sure where.
"When the chips are down... these Civilized people... will Eat each Other"
Really? She's not a dead ringer, but the mannerisms are virtually identical. Hell, they even 'reference' 'Dark Knight Rises' with that 'so that's what that feels like line'.
