Any updates?

Presumably this is finished. It doesn't look like it's coming out this year though. Maybe a Berlin premiere in February? Or is Cannes 2013 more likely?

Greenaway doesn't have very good web presence for someone so enamoured with new media.

Apparently I spoke too soon; it had its premiere at the Netherlands Film Festival last Sunday. http://www.filmfestival.nl/profs_en/films/goltzius-the-pelican-company

There's not a whisper about it online though. No coverage that I can see (maybe there is in Dutch?), no reviews, not even so much as a reaction on these very message boards.

I'm guessing that its UK release date is some time in early 2014, as the DVD is on Zavvi's site for release some time in February.

Got a link? It shows up in a Google search but the link redirects me to the Zavvi front page.

English-language reviews are hard to come by.

Well, the film is already available for download (illegally, I suppose), but I've heard nothing about an actual release.

reply

Hmmm - looks like an illegal download is going to be the only way to view this film in the UK. Not that I'm condoning that.

reply

You sure it's not playing at some festival? I just came back from a screening of it (Copenhagen, Denmark) and it is AMAZING!

The UK DVD release is apparently earmarked for August 2014 and the BFI are releasing it.

It's getting its UK theatrical premiere at the BFI Southbank on the 11th of July 2014. It's at 6:30 PM (BST). Here's the link :-

It'll be on that the BFI Southbank for about a week.
