Supporting cast was the reason this show failed..

I think Whitney Cummings and Chris D'Elia were great, but the rest of the cast definitely sucked.

The supporting cast was indeed a main contributor to the failure of this show.

However Chris and Whitney's relationship wasn't very believable either.

Whitney sucked. Chris was good, Neil was funny and Lily was decent.

I totally agree. Whitney & Chris definitely had good chemistry, but that supporting cast couldn't make me laugh at all. The producers could definitely tell because they introduced that black guy out of desperation to get some laughs from the supporting cast. Didn't work.

I think Roxanne was the standout amongst the supporting cast. and then they de-vulgarized her in the second season. I really enjoyed the show in general, but Roxanne was my favorite. the second season changes were a misstep, the show needed changes but the wrong ones were made. Roxanne!

Yeah, I liked the show but now that I think about it, it was mainly due to the banter and chemistry between Whitney and Alex. Most of the supporting cast was pretty uninteresting, with the exception of Lily, who was delightfully weird. The character of Mark was bland, and the whole "will they won't they" thing they tried to fire up between him and Roxanne was just like, ah, who cares? They wisely dumped the Neal character, but the RJ character wasn't any better. A lot of that was down to the writing, but also much of the performances were just flat. Too bad, it might have worked if they re-tooled the show to focus much more on the main characters, and completely re-casted the supporting cast, maybe had them move to a new city to explain the shakeup. Oh, well.
