Tina Fey's face/trying too hard

Her face looked kind of odd, like she got fillers or some type of surgery. I dunno. It was kind of distracting...

Also, did anyone find her to be trying a bit too hard? It seemed like she couldn't get a hold of her character. She just overacted and while her character was above-and-beyond flamboyant, it seemed odd.

reply

I think that was the point of her character. She was overdramatic, overreaching and immature

Personalluy, i thought she was stronger than amy in this movie.

reply

Oh come on don't make excuses for her. You actually think they "directed" her face to fit the part. Look at her default IMDB photo. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0275486/?ref_=tt_cl_t2

She's ugly plain and simple, always was, always will be. Also she's 46 playing a 30 year old's roll. 46 year old women don't go out partying reinventing themselves. They got families or cats. One or the other. Sure maybe if Tina Fey was playing herself....a weirdo actor, living a weirdo actor's life like all actors do because they're nothing but weirdo's with their failed marriages and drug habits, etc, etc, etc. They didn't try hard enough is the problem, the movies are too caught up in the Reality hype since 2000 they don't want to direct a movie with an actual story they just say "ok Seth Rogen just go on camera and be urself for 2 hours" and call it a movie.

All movies since the Reality craze have sucked.

What? Seriously, WHAT? Please post a pic of yourself and let's see how gorgeous you are.

Also she's 46 playing a 30 year old's roll

What? (Btw, role not roll and she's still 45 right now and was in fact 44 when they filmed)

46 year old women don't go out partying reinventing themselves. They got families or cats. One or the other.

??? Really ??? Jesus, nice bit of stereotyping going on there XD.

Hold up.......HOLD UP. Did you say that 46 year old women don't act like she does in the movie and then go on to say that she basically went on camera and acted like herself for 2 hours? To quote you directly my friend "One or the other."

Tina Fey? - Thanks, but not for mey!

reply

Thank you-- nice job sticking up for Tina. I liked seeing Tina and Amy let loose in this and even though people said it was crappy, I thought there were tons of hidden gems in the script. I just like these ladies. Of course their outfits, antics, and responses were not middle-aged-lady appropriate-- that was the funny part! Now, head to your local meat market and see similarly-aged folks taking themselves super-seriously in the pickup department, and that's when I feel sad for people.

PS Your signoff is one of my favorite lines from Bossypants. I have used it many times in real life when people somehow mix their opinion up with fact.

Tina Fey is a super successful writer, producer, actress. I'm sure she's not losing any sleep over any of these stupid comments. That being said, she said in a TV interview that her husband really got excited when he saw her in the slutty outfit. He liked it. She doesn't usually get to dress up like that so she thought it was pretty fun.

reply

You are disturbed. First of all Tina Fey is not ugly but that is the least of the issues involved in the bullsh*t you call a post.

What you do to women with your stereotyping is completely unacceptable and HIGHLY INACCURATE. Either you are a male and have no clue about women or you are not a 40 something woman. I can tell you that most 40 something women I know have rockin bodies, are very active in and out of the bedroom, and have very full lives. You can have a family and still go out and have fun. You really must live in an armpit of a city if this is what is going on because that is not what is happening in my area of the country! In fact, I know a lot of 40 somethings that are either marrying/married to younger men if they are not dating them! Lotsa 50 somethings too that look awesome and are a blast to party with. dang you must live on another planet

reply

Just because she's ugly (she's not) she shouldn't be allowed to star in a movie? She didn't even have a love story in it!! I don't get your argument at all

reply

The only 'directing' that usually happens with her face is TV shows and movies using makeup or post-production to hide the scar she got from a knife-wielding crazy man when she was a child.

reply

I agree like she lost chin control. Her scar was flaring up and she was just overaccting like no director, she was exhausting to look at. Just like snl the comedy so stupid and silly that it just wears you out.

reply

Her claim to fame is/was looking somewhat like Sara Palin and that really is too little to build a career on.

reply

Tina Fey is the reason I watched this movie. She's smart and attractive, and some side of me wanted to see her slut-it-up a little. There was that one episode in 30 Rock when Suri got her to dress up and look hotter, then the douchebag comedy writers shot her down for that, but I was digging it. Tina's hottest part was standing up through the sunroof grinding her hips and making hand signals behind Amy.

For some reason, though, the biggest LOL moment in the movie was the Korean nail clinician trying to say Amy Poehler's name.

reply

This movie confirmed for me that Amy Poehler is the superior actor. She could have played the good girl or the wild child and been convincing. Tina Fey is at her best when she's playing some version of herself ('Sarah Palin' being the exception).

"What race are you? If you don't tell me I'll just...assume the worst."

reply

I wouldn't have watched it if I knew Tina Fey was in it. She's just repellant.

reply

Tina Fey is the main reason I went to see this movie.

For me, Poehler is the over rated one, she really grates on me a lot of the time, she tries too hard to be the funniest person in the room, she's an 'over-the-top' performer imo, like that scene where she is yelling at the cop, that was classic over-the-top Poehler for me, it didn't fit with the character at all (yes, she lets loose more as the movie goes on but getting in a cops face like that? Doesn't fit imo).

I don't really see why people are saying that Tina was 'miscast', I thought she did a pretty good job, she played the character as she was supposed to. I feel like if any other actress had played the part, exactly the way Tina did, people would be saying they were great but because it's Tina, people are saying she was miscast. I think that people just can't reconcile the fact that she played Liz Lemon and then played this character. It's a bit frustrating.

reply

i cant see how she was miscast when the role was made for her

reply

The role was probably written for her. That doesn't mean it was right for her.

"What race are you? If you don't tell me I'll just...assume the worst."

reply

"The role was probably written for her" this movie had writers ?

reply

I agree. I didn't think she was miscast. Both ladies did a good job in their roles. They have "good buddies" chemistry on screen and off. Oh, her face looked just fine.

reply

I thought she looked really good in this movie.
