I actually looked that up yesterday, because I was watching it and noticed that I recognized the interstitial music (the little notes they play before they go to commercial.) And I said... that's from City Confidential! Turns out, they are made by the same production company.

Got enough guilt to start my own religion...

Thank you! I came here to see if it was just a rip-off or if it was the same production company. So many things seem similar, even down to those colorful expressions used, like..."the evidence was piling against him as fast as the prayer requests on a typical church Sunday in Rome, Georgia..." Lol, you gotta love it. I really miss Paul Winfield's narration, though. He was so good...RIP. And I don't remember City Confidential having the same type of "re-enactments" with actors. Maybe S&S has a smaller budget? For some reason, the whole production values don't seem as good as City Confidential. I still watch, though.

I just hope this show is still around because I can't find City Confidential anywhere for download. What I enjoy doing is comparing across the 2 shows to see if one has new info or handles the case better. For example, there was a City Confidential episode about Carthage as well as on Sins and Secrets. It was really interesting to see how one show relied more on newspaper and personal accounts and the other show more on police reports and lab evidence: especially when one show was released 15 years later.
