Just ask the staff at the magazine.

The staff at the magazine would be able to easily and quickly tell if they were talking to their boss.

And even if they were not willing to say they were sure, it would at least alert the other owners to limit any financial damage.

The daughter should have suggested this.

In reality, the daughter only needed to quiz her on things she knew only her mom would know. Or dental records is what I was thinking.

If you're not responding to me, "reply" to the post you're responding to. kthanks.

The daughter didn't need more proof for herself, she needed proof for the authorities.

Dental records would work in real life (I should have thought of that); but for this films story I realize that the writer would just reveal that neither sister has any fillings.

But not getting input and/or testimony from people at the magazine is a huge plot hole. Even if it did not legally prove anything, it would have given the police reason to really investigate. It also would at least reveal the bad sister as incompetent for business purposes since the accident, even if everyone still believed she was the good sister.

Even if neither twin had any fillings, wouldn't their teeth be somewhat different and dental records would show that? Also, their fingerprints would be different, but this would work in identifying them only if at least one of them had a set of fingerprints in existence already. Their handwriting would be different, and this could have been secretly tested when the mom woke up.
They couldn't possibly have exactly the same moles, scars, or lines on their faces.
