A question regarding the movie

And what was the whole point of Vijay trying to take over Rauf Lala's empire if he had to go in Mandva as one man army at the end??

I guess that one explanation could be that Vijay (Hritik) couldn't go to Mandvaa with more manpower because Kanchaa (Dutt) was always at "cross" with Rauf Lala (Rishi)-- ever since Rauf Lala didn't allow Kanchaa's drug-business to operate with his, in Mumbai.
So maybe Kanchaa, was always on the look-out for "too many" people entering the domain/territories of Mandvaa-- but he didn't put too much of a guard in place when only 'few' several or individual/lone people came into Mandvaa from Mumbai--

Another explanation could be that; before the final confrontation in the film between Vijay and Kanchaa, we see many of the towers and warehouses of Kanchaa's territory blown and destroyed-- which can lead to assume that these bombings in Mandvaa, destroying the 'Lankaa' of Kaancha, were probably executed by people who were now loyal to Vijay-- and were probably ex-Rauf-Lala people (the same who revolted)...
So, if you take that (the second explanation) into account it can very well mean that Vijay DID enter into Mandvaa with more manpower than what you thought
(with the ex Rauf Lala loyalists, now loyal to him)--
--but, from that stage onwards, Vijay CHOSE to face Kanchaa alone-- because of the "personal history" and 'personal account' he had to settle with Kanchaa.

Like old-fashioned warriors, he (Vijay) believed in a "mano-a-mano" confrontation, when it came down to it, who knows?
That's how I understood it.
What do you think?

I have a simple explanation:

I don't think the filmmakers knew what the heck they were doing!

you were just SCii Fiied..!!!

It still does not make any sense to me.. In the movie Vijay is most powerful around the time goes to Mandva for the first time as he is controlling Rauf Lala's gang. If his plan was to sneak in to Mandva (with some me maybe who planted bombs and vanished after that) he should have done it then.. Instead of the time when he had even crossed Rauf Lala's followers.
And what did he accomplish in his first visit to Mandva anyway apart from getting beaten to pulp?

I was going to open a separate thread on this as it was exactly what I was thinking after seeing the movie. Why did he have to double cross Rauf Lala, win some brownie points from Gaidonte, when his main plan is to take revenge in Kancha. They planned the movie as if he was going to outwit Kancha by taking over his business or something and then wanted to finish the movie somehow. If he had done it(going to mandwa and killing Kancha)earlier, at least Kali would have survived and we need not have watched such a painfully long movie.
