THere was one episode where Wayde and Brett went to Florida and met up with Brett's mother... what confused me was that Brett introduced Wayde to his mother, since he's married to Brett's sister. Are they step-siblings?

They would be brothers in-law.

Yes, they are brother in laws. But Wayde met Brett's mom for the first time though he's married to Brett's sister. So, either Brett's mom and sister don't have anything to do with each other or Heather (waydes wife) is not the daughter of Brett's mom. Maybe Brett's step sister or half sister.

They are half siblings. Earlier in that episode he said that she was his sister from another mother, and joked that she was his half sister and half his size.

Heather has a different mother, who is now deceased. That was established in the Long Island Medium episode.
