Hopefully the remake will give it justice.

Saw it at the SD Asian Film Festival. Amazing!!! I was one of the only white girls in the theater. I hate how everyone is so closed off to other cultures and then when this gets remade into an American film I bet no one will realize it was originally Korean.

There was an american movie released in 1993 called Heart and Souls. It has a lot of similarities to Hello Ghost:

1. Guy also sees 4 ghosts.
2. All 4 ghosts died on the same bus, just like all 4 died in the same car.
3. There is a love interest who he ends up getting together with in the end.
4. The ghosts are also able to take control of his body.
5. The ghosts are here in order to attend to unresolved issues.

It's safe to say that Hello Ghost is heavily influenced by this film.

I actually found an article about it as well:

It doesn't really matter who came up with an idea first, it matters who makes the best version of the story.

Why is it that the Korean versions are almost always more beautiful, more poignant, than the American versions?

That's the REAL question.

Once I asked the same question to a Korean who knows many things about all kind of movies... (from his own mouth) Because it is a foreign movie to you... No wonder about this... Actually we always thought that how these hollywood people make movies this much good...

so Mr.overseer-3 It is nothing but our mind... We always love to praise other's work besides our own....
