Not a horrible effort
But the plot devices are just cringe worthy and the characters act like idiots all the way through. My personal favorite was a girl leaving her friend handcuffed to a murder while a knife and gun were laying on the ground. Sure, why bother sticking around to make sure he gets uncuffed. Far better to leave, have the bad guy wake up and gain control of the situation again. Oh and lets have the friend handcuffed to the guy act like the bad guy will never regain consciousness ie he also neglects to secure the weapons laying around.
Lets not forget the "forest" they are in must be about half an acre since everyone constantly stumbles into each other. I get the fact some had GPS tracking devices, but not everyone, and even people initially going in different directions bump into each other...what did they circle the globe that fast?
Some other idiotic parts?
A guy who just shot one of the "bad guys" puts the gun he took off of him in his cooler...so he can get jumped by another bad guy who doesnt have a gun. Amazingly I guess he forgot it was in there since 60 seconds later he's swinging the cooler like a weapon instead of simply getting the gun out of it.
Apparently all these hiker types can kick like MMA experts since at least three times a kick drops someone with a gun for a couple minutes....oh and of course the kicks come with their hands tied behind their back.
The token "bad girl" decides "hey, good time to get drunk!"
The good guy must think the arm is a good place to stab someone trying to kill you since he does it twice.
On the plus side the first 15 minutes are actually quite good. Too bad the last hour plus is just excruciating.
