I like her! One of my favorite characters in this series. It is a pleasure to watch Nebahat Çehre who, in my opinion is a very good and beautiful actress.
shareShe is the most appealing--and sensible!--female character. At least so far. I'm only up to episode 13. (I certainly wish the loony first wife would take Valide's advice, and stop carrying on as if the concept of concubines fell out of the air and into her lap; it's her own culture and upbringing.)
shareI don't understand why Valide's so threatened by Hürrem. If it wasn't for this, I'd respect her more. Aside from that, I agree with you & OP.
Some have such a low esteem they create reasons to hate everyone else.
To me, she seems less threatened (that's the wife) than appalled by Hurrem's disrespectful behavior. That and she appears to be genuinely fond of the first wife--if increasingly irritated by her carrying on.
