She was a handsome boy!

I like to imagine the character growing up into a handsome man with no identity crisis because he's found who he really is!

Awesome movie, extremely well made. :)

I realize being a tomboy is different than being a transexual, but that's how I'd like to imagine things. Less of a phase, more of an identity.

What sick ridiculous puppets we are.

Exactly
It didn't look like a "childish phase" as some said
Her sister was a lot younger and still more feminine than her, so it was a natural inclination for her

As I was watching the movie I was so happy for her, making her dream to be a like true and convincing everything. I could feel the thrill and the joy.

When the mother said "you can't do this forever, school is starting in a week"
I thouught: why in the world should school put you into box and tell "your" name and gender and age. Why can't the mother sign up her to school as Michael?

Why society institutions have to categorize us and give away our personal information. Why a 10 year old French girl can't say he is 12 or a boy or German?
Why shuold school contradict her truth? What's all this preoccupation with identifying people and putting them into boxes? To me our personal reality is far truer than the perceived objective reality of society.

Actually I went watching this film convinced it was about a young boy growing up. My opinion was already formed so I found really hard to swallow that the character was a girl =/

She just looked wrong wearing dresses, then I thought that maybe the actress was a boy. Nope, I would've been deceived by the beautiful Laure as well.

Really innocent cute film about a much more serious matter.
I actually feel confused now because I like to think that I'm a liberal man but if my daughter did that to me, I'd be lost and shocked.
I guess she'd my support if she wasn't mine but if she was... I don't know

I think that there is equal chance for her to become a normal girl, a transgender boy or something halfway. this movie is about acceptance of one self, whatever it is.
