In the forest...she takes off the dress eventually leading to a cutaway...when the camera scrolls back was anyone expecting to see our tomboy hanging by the dress fr a branch? A much darker path could have given us a suicide or a boys don't cry ending where she was murdered by the miffed children.

I worried for her at the lake too..about the playdoh falling out somehow... And while playing soccer (football) the color of the underwear popping out of the shorts suggested were she passed (boys do that kind of thing) it would have been revealed he was wearing girls underwear.

I was surprised the mom outted her and nobody was suspicious nor was her secret accidentally revealed.
