Schmaltzy, but fun

Saw it last night at Yavapai College here in Prescott, Aridzona. Nice, fun holiday movie but way too heavy on the schmaltz, literally.

The Jewish characters, particularly the grandparents were cardboard cutouts of Jewish stereotypes. Each line of theirs had at least one Yiddish word or idiom.

The character of the bully was also stereotyped: camoflauge-wearing and full of anger, he lives in a trailer park and has an abusive and probably alcoholic father.

Why the camoflauge? Because the movie industry is dominated by Leftists, and they can't pass up the opportunity to portray the Right in a negative light. Hmmm, if only they knew the truth.....

None of the teenagers have acne, a common goof in all movies that featured at least one teenager.

Loved the parody of "Plan 9 from Outer Space" and the over-the-top parody of the reality-TV star, the blonde ditz whose name I already forget.

Schmaltzy, but fun.
