I have read about the 2012 phenomenon. What I mean is that there is probably no mention of the 2012 phenomenon in this movie like 2012:Supernova.
shareAh fair point, but it's probably just a bit of artistic (if you can call it that) licence to cash in on something everyone is talking about, instantly gives mist people at least a little interest in the movie, at least until they watch it lol

So.. basically they named it b/c some people might think it's a sequel to the movie "2012" and rent/buy it. Funny thing is that the DVD cover art is awesome.. too bad the movie doesn't come close to being good.

Essentially... Yes. Lol. It's shameless, I know, but movie makers have been trying to ride the coattails of bigger movies for a long time, using similar names and cover art in the hope that people will either think it's a sequel or related to it somehow and buy it, or take something that has received a lot of global press coverage and create very tenuous links between that and their movie, and make it the major selling point, even though the movie largely has nothing to do with it.
In fact the whole doomsday thing has been whored excessively since global warming first became major news, and we get stuck with trash like this, the Core, 2012 supernova and countless other straight to DVD "gems"
