Good Movie, Bad Ending (Spoilers)

I thought the movie didn't need the ambiguous ending. I think it was a cop out since Jenny's boyfriend wasn't really a bad person, so it felt easy to just end it without any resolution. Also, for someone that can't afford to live there, it seemed odd that he would pay the fees to cancel a nonrefundable flight, and fly out somewhere else on a whim.
