Worst show ever

And no, I'm not a troll. I watch it once in a while when nothing else is on, but the characters are all so ridiculous. Also, the constant wisecracks, snarky remarks and over-use of the laugh track drive me up the wall. Not to mention the fact that they're allowed to keep a horse in the city! Come on, now. Oh well, just wanted to say my piece.

My Mother, The Car
V.I.P.
She Spies
Mann & Machine
The Trouble With Larry
Cop Rock
Hello Larry
The Ropers
Honey Boo Boo

2 Broke Girls isn't even in the top 50.

reply

The Ropers wasn't as bad as this slop, but Three's A Crowd was.

reply

Are u kidding me my mother the car is the *beep* and it helps if u get high :)

reply

The acting is absolutely horrid

reply

These are the reasons I like the show.
I certainly could expand on this, but in short:
It's fun.

I'm with you, so let's hear the reasons! For me, the incidental one-off characters actually have some good lines; spoofing the trendiness of NYC and all that. It's not Max and Caroline and raunchiness all the time...

To each his own. It's just 22 minutes. People should relax.

reply

because there exist plenty of shows that are much worse.

reply

I've been watching TV since the early 70s. I've seen my share of shows. I should rephrase my post: this is the worst show on TV right now and one of the worst of all time.

reply

Maybe you have a point about it being the worst on TV now, although I'm sure if I went through all of the shows on TV now I could find worse - heck The Curse of Oak Island is worse than this.

But, we've got 60 years of TV shows, and even if you just use American TV shows, there are tons which are worse. My Mother, The Car, V.I.P., She Spies, Mann & Machine, The Trouble With Larry, Cop Rock, Hello Larry, The Ropers, Honey Boo Boo, Tequila and Bonetti, A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila, Supertrain, Manimal, Lucan, The Brady Bunch Hour, AfterMash.

reply

but did any of those shows last five seasons?

reply

That wasn't part of the criteria. Several of the shows which I have listed in this thread lasted more than one season.

Married, With Children lasted 11 seasons I believe. Should that show have really lasted 2? I liked it, but it wasn't high quality. It was, however, popular enough with the masses that it became a commercial success.

reply

With the exception of the studio audience and their wild cheering, "Married With Children", was funny, this show isn't.

reply

I liked it, but, no. It really wasn't very good. They were all about the crude, juvenile humor. They pushed the boundaries when it came to showing T&A, and often would ONLY show the T&A for ratings.

It's appeal was that Al was the lovable loser and it had lots of jiggles.

reply

Jersey shore, the Kardashians, Storage Wars, Auction Wars or something like that. I guess there have been a lot of crappy shows! Lol

reply

Hey! Don't you be trashing the Brady Bunch. Lol that's high quality tv lol

reply

The Brady Bunch Hour

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0075485/

reply

I agree. The horse? No way would that be allowed at any apartment building.

I'm a prude. The fact that I get the innuendos say how trashy my mind can get.

But it's sometimes gross. And they seem to say things just to throw a crude remark out...just to see if they can get it past the censors

To me, that shows lack of creative thinking

reply

I feel the same. It's just terrible. I suffered through a few episodes. its just corny joke after corny joke

reply

Sorry - This show is totally unfunny. There's nothing redeeming about it, between the annoying and over the top characters, to the horrible writing, to the laugh track inserted to try and make this show funny. I don't get why this show made it. The joke themselves are terrible.

reply

Virtually ALL sitcoms have laugh tracks - it's hardly unique to this show!

And what do you consider to be a high-quality sitcom, if this one doesn't make the grade?

reply

I love the show and I find it funny. People have different sense of humor and we enjoy different kinds of jokes. And the horse thing, seriously...maybe you are just not into comedies and you don't know much about the genre. Is not a drama, is not trying to show the reality, is just supposed to amuse people. If you'd watch more comedies and have a proper understanding of the genre you'd notice that most of them are not realistic and that they are magnifying a lot of things in order to make them funny. I don't know, is like complaining that James Bond or mission impossible is not realistic, or that most of the scientific explanations in movies have not much to do with science. They are just supposed to be that way. I'd find bad a movie that's trying to be realistic and fails, not a movie of which purpose is not to be realistic for not being realistic.

reply

The show is TRYING to be a comedy and fails badly. Everything in it is so ridiculous it cannot, in any way, be funny. With all due respect, I find that it could only appeal to tweens/teens whose brains are still developing. And yes, I have watched a lot of comedies in my lifetime, and still do. I love Big Bang Theory. I also watch other, silly comedies - Mom, Mike & Molly, The Odd Couple. Broke Girls is not silly like that, it's irritating. It doesn't even have one redeeming character.

reply

As I said, people are different and enjoy different kinds of jokes and have different sense of humor. Some people laugh at jokes, some laugh at characters finding themselves in different situations.
I don't think you can judge which are jokes for smart people and which are for stupid people, and I think nobody can do that cause there's no such thing as jokes for stupid or smart, but jokes for people with different characters and different tastes.
I must add that you are wrong in your assumption. I am not a teen with brains that is still developing, though, that's not an insult as you meant it to be, because having a young brain is better than an aging brain of which functions only drop in time, but a 25 years old person that studied at the very best institutions. Some people are really busy and at the end of the day really tired, and enjoy movies that don't have some kind of hidden meaning, but that are there just to entertain you and make you watch something without overthinking everything, so that you can "have your brain resting" and feel amused.
Also, if you don't find characters redeeming, doesn't mean that they're not. Obviously, people that enjoy this show do like the characters. Being open minded is golden.

reply

That's right, you enjoy the show and the characters. I don't. So what. I just gave my opinion. Doesn't really impact my life lol

I think you mean "genre", not "gender".

You make a good point, though. I agree!

Thank you. English is not my first language and I make some mistakes now and then. I corrected...
