Congratulations to the cast and crew of The Cemetery for their win at the Chicago Horror Film Festival (2013) for winning the "Directors Choice Award"!!

This won an award?! Seriously? I'm finding that a tad hard to believe, man.

Actually, The Cemetery has won several awards. On IMDb it has 5 wins & 3 nominations for directing, acting and special effects, but it's also won awards in other festivals that aren't linked to IMDb. We're talking festivals that are highly regarded in the horror community too.

Also, I have yet to see any legitimate journalist write a bad review of The Cemetery, Adam Ahlbrandt or his other recent work.

The only bad reviews I've read have been from anonymous arm-chair critics, such as yourself, who post comments on message boards.

I loved it. Thought it was campy, gory and I thought the usage of practical effects was fantastic. I didn't love the hardcore soundtrack, but it doesn't ruin the movie for me.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but just because you didn't like it doesn't mean your opinion in the truth. I always advise people to read all reviews (good and bad), watch the trailers and clips and take a chance on a film if you're interested.

Actually, poor direction and acting is a matter of opinion and just because you are allegedly

the managing editor of a small publication
does not mean your opinion should be presented as a fact.

Do you make films? Whether you do or don't, if you post comments such as
This won an award?! Seriously? I'm finding that a tad hard to believe, man
when the awards are clearly linked to the IMDb page for the movie you are bashing, instead of reviewing, makes you an arm-chair critic in my book.

At most it makes you a poor journalist if you don't research a film well enough to see that it's won awards. Acting superior about film standards and quoting Voltaire doesn't make you any smarter than anyone else.

What publication are you the managing editor of? I'd like to avoid it if it's full of pompous opinions passed off as fact.

You have got to be kidding. I cannot even image how poor the competition must been.

You can't palm off a second-rater on me. You gotta remember I was in the pink!
