All the Jaws similarities......... ..
............ was this supposed to be paying homage or what?? The 'Quint' rip off was pretty poor, albeit it funny at times. Can Spielberg sue for pinching his ideas/story and mucking about with it??

shareAfter what he and george lucas did to indy 4 i don't think he can sue anyone
shareDo you really think that Mr. Spielberg would want to ADMIT to having watched this, being SO incensed by the same idea (apart from there were no fingernails scraping down the blackboard) that he would bother to sue them?
And what about the "Deep Blue Sea" similarities - important person giving speech to the onlookers/camera, when suddenly, a shark pops up and takes him out!
Even if they did.. what would they get?... this one can't have made much at all.

The tag line should have been: "Just when you thought you were through being Chevy Chased."
[See, there used to be this recurring skit on the original SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, about a talking amphibious shark that raided apartment houses disguised as a Candy-gram messenger...]

Spielberg didn't create the characters from Jaws, and ripping off other stuff is nothing new to the asylum. Heck, have you seen their work, or even the titles of their work ? The day the earth stopped ? Journey to the middle of the earth ? Alien vs hunter ? Transmorphers ? DUH !
shareThey got away with "The Terminators" too.

Or "I am Omega" - pretty sure they did that one too. Speaking of Jaws characters in an Asylum movie, I was fairly appalled at the appearance of Martin and Ellen Brody in Sharknado 2. Especially since they were such weak, inconsequential characters. I would have liked an actual Jaws reference uttered by one of them.
shareI would hardly call this paying homage. It seemed more like a parody albeit an awful parody.
Very good. But brick not hit back!share
