Oh the screeching

Low budget or not I got to question casting 5+ banshees and letting them scream and holler at the top of their lungs for the final 45 minutes as not a good idea.

I welcomed the deaths.

I'm watching this and stopped the movie so I could come here and see if anyone else had the same reaction to all that *beep* screaming.

Jesus Christ, I loathe movies that replace dialogue with hysterical female screaming and bro-shouting. I was really enjoying this movie right up the point where that started...now I'm not sure whether I even want to bother finishing it.

Like the OP said three years ago, I'm actually glad they're all going to die. These characters were totally sympathetic for most of the movie until they all lost their damn minds.

What are directors thinking when they do this?

Real people do not react like this in emergencies. They may get loud, they definitely bicker, and one or two may get overemotional, but you don't have whole groups running around shrieking mindlessly.

I kept thinking, "Okay, it's close -- shut the hell up!"

And really? You're running outside???

I get that people panic but when someone shouts "We're all going to die!" even before the "monster" comes close (this was said when the one guy's body was found in the woods) I get unnerved. Just shut the house up, fortify it, be quiet and wait until morning. Don't run around like screeching morons!
