id love to see a season set against the backdrop of either the Cold War or Great Depression

both were very frightening times for America
during The Great Depression - you had children dying in the street thousands-millions of americans were unemployed the stock market had crashed when it came to food most americans could only afford only a loaf of bread.

During the Cold War - the entire country & the world were expecting U.S., Russia & Cuba to go full "Terminator mode" on each other at any minute!

Apocalypse dealt with nuclear fall out so that sort of rules out the Cold War.

Wow, did not even know that I NEEDED this until you said it. I would absolutely love to see what they would do with a time period like that. The AHS cast is such a versatile, well rounded group of absolutely amazing actors and actresses. I can see it now.

Haven't seen it so far but isn't CARNIVALE (which was apparently cancelled too early despite being a superb series) something like this?

But you're right, I'd love AHS visiting dust-torn Oklahoma of the early 30s!
