Season 7: Surprised at how riveting it is

Here I am...pulling an all nighter to watch through the "Cult" season. I'm very suprised at the decent plot...and a lot of the acting is really good. Sheesh. This is a grand improvement from the stupid freak show season.

I liked freak show, halfway through cult and liking that as well.

I wasn't fond of freak show. Maybe I'll have to watch it again.

Cult started amazingly well, sorta illustrating how insane both sides can get. The satire was on point.
But then, as with all seasons of AHS (imo), it became directionless in the second half and wavered into a bizarre, uninteresting ending.

I can see why you might feel it became directionless. After finishing it, I feel it more so went from being extremely politically centered to instead focusing on illustrating cult psychology. The writers didn't do a very good job of transitioning between the themes for the audience.

reply

Yeah I kinda felt the same way.

I really enjoyed the first half of the season seeing how people get sucked into a cult and then end up acting on it. It seemed like Evan Peters character had some deep dark plan but then it sort of devolved into him just becoming nuts and out of nowhere that whole men are better than women shit.

First of all I agree I did not like how kai transformed. Yes he was crazy but I enjoyed the character up until it turned into him just hating women. At the beginning he was creepy and interesting but at the end just repulsive. I will say one thing evan peters was extremely convincing in the role through out. The scenes where he was speaking to people and mentally seducing them at the beginning were so interesting and creepy. The strange music they chose for these scenes only helped.
