What kills that theory is that this isn't in the distant past. Matt is using a cell phone for a flashlight, plus his whole camera app setup. I think Denis O'Hare's character is in the mid-90s, while Matt & Shelby are *very* recently.
It is a great theory though, I like that connection. i just don't think it'd work.

shareI don't think it's supposed to be the same character. The fact that Cricket is from NOLA may simply be a nod to Coven. It may also just be a way to explain Leslie Jordan's thick Southern accent. NOLA is brimming with superstition, so it wouldn't seem unlikely that a psychic would live there.
Besides, Myrtle killed Quentin in Coven, and this season seems to be set in the present.
If they used Quentin from the coven, it would have been great, but i really think that Cricket is a completely different person.
