AHS probably just picked a famous name from NC history (Polk) as an homage, but U.S. President James K. Polk was from North Carolina.

His wife, Sarah Childress Polk, attended school at the Salem Academy in North Carolina... an all female boarding school.

Could lead to a tie-in with Coven?
