She was so shocked that Tia only had rice, peppers, mushrooms, asparagus, and a salad for a meal and then she makes that comment about making some chicken wings, LOL. A Vegan does not eat any thing that comes from an animal. Maybe Tia being a Vegan is new or something. I just laughed when Tamera was surprised what the meal was and that there was no meat. I am not hating on Tamera.
shareMaybe she thought her sister would have meat for her and Jerome. Just because Tia is vegan doesn't mean she can't order some chicken for Tamera and Jerome. It's not like she has to eat it.
shareThat is a good point except my friends and I do things just the opposite. Instead of making whomever is hosting the party/dinner cook or bake something that goes against their beliefs or dietary needs/allergies, the host will cook whatever they would normally cook and those who eat differently ie don't eat meat, don't eat pork, don't eat glueten, etc. they bring their own dishes. It usually turns out great and there is no extra work for the host. Being a host is stressful enough. :-)
shareThat is totally the way to do it! :) Way I see it, being vegetarian/vegan isn't even as much about refraining from eating meat/animal products (unless your primary reason is personal health), as it is about not supporting the cruel, filthy, and wasteful industry of factory farming by paying for those products. A mostly-vegetarian could swap plates with someone who eats a lot of meat and it wouldn't have any effect on the industry itself; simply eating or not eating the products once they've been produced and purchased changes nothing.)
So even if I weren't vegetarian, I would never expect someone who was to buy meat to accommodate me. I'd either bring my own or enjoy the host's meatless goodness.
