Maya's success is a mystery to me, and I absolutely cannot stand her on this show.

shareWhere Maya's character shines is when she shows genuine affection for others; unfortunately that's not showcased enough.
Take a look at "30 Rock" and Jenna Marone (Jane Krakowski) ... she plays the most self-centered character on TV, and yet the audience loves her (at least I do) because, once her needs are met, she genuinely wants to do right for other characters. It's actually been a plot point a bunch of times: Jenna steps on other people to get what she feels she needs, and once she gets what she wants she realizes that other people got hurt and she tries to set things right.
Anyway, back to Maya: she's gorgeous and frighteningly talented, and the Eva character just needs a touch of the Jenna Marone treatment. My favorite Eva moment was when she was trying to help Jason Lee's daughter overcome stage fright, and showed her a Youtube video of her (Eva) bombing. Honest and open; that's what sells a character.

I agree. Maya is wonderful, I can't get enough of her. I love both the character and the actress. Please, give me more Maya! :)
