Can someone refresh my memory?

I've seen every episode except a few from season 1 but there are so many story lines and some of them are not interesting. Also, I watch a lot of tv shows so I often forget what happened.

1. When did Regina get split into 2 people?

2. Is one of them all good and the other all bad? And if so, isn't that cheating when it comes to the whole redemption story arc?

3. Where has the Evil Queen version been prior to showing up in Storybrooke this season? If she's been in the real world, how did she get there?

Regina splitting in two only happened at the end of last season. Regina wanted the evil part out of her so she took the potion that was used to split Jekyll and Hyde apart. Not a lot of time has passed between the ending of last season and the beginning of this season so she just made her way to Storybrooke after seeing the Dragon.
