Regina didn't have a choice

I mean like she really didn't.

reply

she could have disabled him and tied him up in tell he got his heart back

reply

The Evil Queen probably thought of that possibility too as well though. The Evil Queen probably put some spell on Monte so that Regina couldn't magically disable him.

reply

Regina's magic was disabled though so she wouldn't have been able to use magic on him.

reply

That my point. She couldn't have disabled him. On top of that him defeated her.

reply

It looks like Regina's new story has hit a few bumps in the road.

reply

Yeah she didn't really have a choice. It was either kill him or let him kill the Charmings.

The EQ seems to be one step ahead of all the gang unfortunately knowing how they'd think. Like she stopped getting out of StoryBrooke knowing at some point they'd try as a option.

Why does killing in self-defense on this show always get classified by the villains in the category of darkness? Cora's death, Cruella's death, Gaston's eternal damnation, and Dantes' death are clear cut examples of fates that were called for when there was no alternative that presented itself. If those deeds were all dark deeds, then every hero who has killed villains to save lives is a sham. Honestly the villains just call self-defense an act of darkness just to make fun of heroes and make them feel bad when they really don't know what they're talking about.

reply

Amen. Also the whole light magic has to be precise in being offensive otherwise it's evil

reply

Couldn't agree more! Killing someone in self defense or the defense of others is not an act of darkness. It bothers me too!

I agree with this. I feel like the villains know damn well what acts of self-defense are, but purposely twist it around as something "evil" in order to mess with the hero's head. The real problem lies with the writing of the hero. Why not write it so that the hero without a shadow of a doubt knows clearly the difference between a situation/act of pure self defense, and a situation/act of pure vengeance.

reply

you're right she didn't have a choice. but interesting that emma made the same kind of choice in killing cruella and everybody was like "ooohh ur going dark emma..watch out" but regina kills someone in self defense and everyone doesn't doubt her one bit?.

reply

Her special snowflake powers win again

reply

A little different of a situation. Rumple was trying to make her go dark.

reply

Not really. The show and the writing has always made self defense or justified anger seem evil. Especially against Regina.

reply

Regina's is worse (even if it's still understandable to some degree). Cruella was a terrible person who wanted to hurt Henry. The Count of Monte Cristo was being forced to do something he didn't want to (also by Regina, albeit her more evil side).

She should have tried to knock him out or trip him or up or something. Killing him should have been the very last resort.

Is this turnout weak or what? I had at least 70 more people at my funeral.

reply

she could've thrown the sword somewhere else instead of his chest to wound him and give them enough time to restrain him.

I used to be indecisive. Now, I'm not so sure.

reply

And he could have knocked her out and still kill the charming. You saw quickly he defeated her.

reply

Regina could have hit Edmond over the head and knocked him out and tied him up. She was behind him, she could have cut him with the sword and disabled him. She didn't have to kill him. She wanted to protect her friends, she didn't kill the Count to be evil, but she still killed when she didn't have to, like Emma did with Cruella, and there's going to be fallout from it, just like there was with Emma.
