Robin Shou is too old to play Liu Kang, but he was awesome in the original!

Tom Hardy playing Shao Kahn could be awesome.

I dont think Jet Li is right for Kung Lao.

To acknowledge the fact that Mary Kate and Ashley have been cast as the female ninjas doesn?t even scratch the surface of absurdity that some of the later dissapointments would claw at, if you were a casting director for this reboot.

looking at the new MK movie this is going to be a reboot as we know i have to say i liked the Rebirth short and Mk legacy was a great way too generate new interest in the projects.

The sequel to the first MK movie was a debacle, and completely floored any potential films however i am excited to see a new movie in the works, However i think when people are putting together their cast list they have to be realistic.

the Production company will expect a return on investment on a minimal budget people have their fantasy casts and casting Hollywood A lister's will not happen due to budgets and actually being able to attract a number of A lister's.

A listers do not always work and films have previously produced great success on a smaller budget and with a lesser known cast, people have to remember sometimes it is sometimes the movie and not its stars which attracts a viewer just look at 300 largely lesser known cast and a then unknown director created a film which i personally loved.

Below are my cast suggestions looking at a realistic budget and what the production company may attract in terms of stars. Everyone has an opinion and their will be a large number of people who do not agree with or like my choices however its just a cast id quite like to see personally.I have put a few choices for some as could possibly aid the character in different ways
