Yeah, the director, Victor Salva is a pedophile. I remember watching the movie Powder and wondering why I was looking at gratuitous scenes of teen boys taking showers. It was so not germane to the story and then I read somewhere where he got caught either molesting boys or something. And then of course it clicked. Now you wonder why didn't anyone on the set realize what he was up to. Reminds me of reading this thin book written by this priest that ran this charity program in New York (this is about 20 years ago) and his description of the boys and his methods (standing close to them, how gorgeous they were) and I was like, uh-oh, this priest is a pedo. Sure enough a little while later he was accused of molesting boys for years. I want to say the charity was St. Vincents. Yeah ol Salva must have enjoyed having the boy on the set.

Salva was convicted of molesting a 12 year old boy that was in a movie of his. Everyone acted like well he paid his debt to society and it's over. It's never over with pedo's and the way he filmed the young men in that film Powder was all the proof I needed. I did not know about his conviction. I only knew that the scenes seemed totally unnecessary and the shots spent a great deal on those boys bodies. Watching him in the extras of the Jeepers films surrounding by young males in the back of the bus, now gives me the creeps. Pedo's are never cured and the attitude that the producers had about it at the time is unconscionable.
