"Put it back on"...Why??

Why does Miles Teller's character say "Put it back on" after someone else says, "Take it off" just before Tris jumps of the roof? It's not like she's unattractive or anything.

it was Peter (Miles Teller) who said both lines. It was just him being a d!ck.

I think I read somewhere that Miles Teller adlibbed the "put it back on" line.

As EmJay said, Miles delivered both lines. Peter's intent was first to debase and sexualize Tris, and then (you caught the implication) to make her feel that she was unattractive and therefore needed to be covered up (though she was still wearing long sleeves, so it's not like taking of the jacket revealed much).

Please don't feed the trolls.

From what I understand, the "take it off" was scripted, but Miles ad-libed the "put it back on". I think it's funny. It's Peter being a jokester and a smart a$$. Saying "put it back on" is a way of insulting Tris by implying she's not attractive.

A true story - Miles Teller adlibbed the line. It seemed so natural it was kept.
