TLC are now advertising that there are only 2 more episodes until the series finale of NY INK..
This show is great, not really great in ratings, but they could've at least given it another season..
I renamed my IPOd The Titanic, so whenever it charges it says the Titanic is syncing.
That might have been a pre-established deal with Ami, and 2 seasons were all everyone signed up for.
What Ami and company learned from Miami Ink, if you have a shop full of friends, there's not much drama or interest so a lot of pressure comes down from the producers to make stupid stuff interesting. With NY ink, he started with a bunch of strangers with big personalities, and just let it all get filmed. No owner in their right mind would hire Jessica to run the counter, Robear to run the floor, Torres to tattoo, and apprentice a best friend all at the same time. It's just way too much attitude and drama to stay stable over a long period, so I'd bet he just said, 2 seasons is all you're gonna get from me.
If there wasn't a contract, why the hell was Torres in the second season?
I guess I wasn't paying that much attention, but I thought last nights episode said there was 1 episode left until the season finale not series??

I'm disappointed, too.
If Ami established it that way from the beginning, that's cool and certainly understandable.
Although I did notice that one commercial has Ami saying "season finale"... but then the commercials changed to "series finale". And after watching it, in my opinion, the end seemed rather rushed.
Who knows. =/
I'm dissapointed, I really enjoyed the show, and I think there probably was a contract, but the end of the show seemed way to rushed. Suddenly everyone is leaving, all that crap, so maybe they just decided not to re-new it when Tim/Megan/Jessica decided to do there own thing. Question though, my DVR cut it off, what the hell did he say at the end, the last part I saw was he daughter saying "savages" Then it cut off. Did they leave it open for another season???

I don't remember the part you refer, but after the stupid egging thing, Ami does a voiceover saying that despite chris's immaturity, he still had a lot of stress dealing with the changing shop. that everyone was branching off, but he just needed to keep on going, or something. and he randomly threw in that his wife was expecting another child.
i'm pretty certain that if there was to be another season, they just would have ended with the chris torres stuff.
I'm beginning to think it was canned last minute because they never showed reruns & they just treated it horribly in genera;..
Even now, the show is completely vanished from TLC...
If it was intended to be contracted/limited-run, then I'm pretty sure it would've got way more love from TLC..
