Hopefully Best Actor + Actress Oscars For Bening + Freeman

Hopefully 2013 will be the year they both win Best Actor & Best Actress at the Oscars for this film.

This looks like such a great idea - especially with the talent involved. Sounds like a project I would love to write. :)

It's Rob Reiner, are you kidding me? The man hasn't done anything worth while for years. It's going to have the same problems as his recent films: tries too hard to be heartfelt rather than being genuine.

Maybe "trying to be heartfelt" IS his 'genuine'. Like with The Bucket List. ...heartfelt and genuine while trying to be so

Are you serious? Flipped was a VERY worthwile flick, maybe "vastly unoriginal", but it definitely was a genuine addition to his filmography.

Why, without seeing the film, would you say they should win acting Oscars?

Are you a sycophant of the over-hyped Freeman or what?

Man, I hope this movie is as good as it looks. I love the cast, Freeman has been one of my favorites for years. I also have a little vested in that the film was shot on the lake and village where I was born, raised and lived for 30 years. I was able to immediately identify scenes in the trailer. That's really something!

Just watching Morgan Freeman on Craig Ferguson talking about this flick as I write this:

Freeman always gives a great performance, and if this movie's the caliber of "The Bucket List," it's also going on my 'must-see bucket list.' But it's apparent this thread was started before filming began and before Annette Bening was replaced by Virginia Madsen. No matter, as Madsen is as worthy as Bening of giving an award-winning performance, perhaps even more so.

i'm also a fan of morgan -- i also liked virginia madsen as well and actually i think she fits the part better than annette bening would have -- and don't get me wrong bc i like her as well - it just seeems like virginia was the right choice anyway, she's always been underrated and i would love to see her shine; she still as gorgeous as ever too. she had plenty of chem w/morgan freeman - he of course is still one of the best in hollywood; and i have a list of faves, he's one of them... if i listed my faves it would take the whole post. i have a lot of younger actors i like as well...

Why are people fans of Morgans - he plays the same character in every damn film!?

Do you not realize this?

Annette Bening isn't even in this film, so an Oscar-nom is out of the question!!

Well, I'll be showing this to my movie group shortly...I expect they'll love it.

Coincidence! I just watched Annette Bening in Regarding Henry before viewing Belle Isle in a double feature night with my Netflix streaming. I agree Virginia Madsen was perfect in this role as a mother with three little girls and going through a divorce. Even without dialog you could see it in her eyes. Bening was wonderful as the suffering wife of wounded Harrison Ford, him playing against his type, dependent, clueless. Great double feature.
