I can't get over how much I like this movie..are there more?

In a society that has pushed youth/elder to the side - this movies just hits on so many lost rituals. An elderly mentoring a young child both with amazing creativity. Are there more films like this?

I just got done watching this movie and agree with you totally! I can't believe how much I actually fell in love with the movie! I laughed, cried and just couldn't take my eyes from the screen. Morgan Freeman is awesome and so was everyone else. I hope there are more like this too. First good movie I have seen in ages.

Gotta see if I can get my hands on this movie. I never connected that it was a Rob Reiner film. I really loved the pairing of Reiner & Freeman (and Nicholson) in The Bucket List.

I just discovered it on TMC -- I can't believe I never heard of this before. It is an amazing movie that lives up to the use of the word "magic" in the title. Rob Reiner always makes great films and this is no exception. I only wish they made more movies like this.

I though it was a good movie. I like the characters Morgan Freeman and the ladies were great. I wish there was sub title on the DVD. The extras were great. Rob Reiner is getting a little heavy.

There was one I watched with James Earl Jones helping a little boy near a lake...or something. Can't remember what it was called though. I saw it on a Senior channel I think.

There's another one with Maggie Smith or Vanessa Redgrave helping out a boy near a lighthouse. Something with Angels in the title. This was more about coping with tragedy than being creative, but similar set up of the seemingly cranky older person who softens and helps a young person in need.

In a hurry at the moment but I'll look up the titles later and come back.

edit: Okay the one with James Earl Jones is "Summers End"
the one with Vanessa Redgrave is "A Rumor of Angels"
