great portrayal of aging

As I approach mid-century, I think a lot about how life has past by too quickly. What I really liked about this movie was what Tom says about life and aging. I also like how both ed and Annette didn't fall for plastic surgery. They look great.

I agree! I saw it today and was so happy to see Annette's face wasn't stretched and disfigured like so many actresses. You could tell they have aged and they still look great. I couldn't believe Ed's body when he had his shirt off. To me, he is one of the sexiest actors there is, always has been.

I agree about Ed Harris! There is something I find so sexy about him. He is reason I watched this movie.

I have to admit something. I'm one of those who gets very annoyed and sad when I see someone who has had plastic surgery because they were afraid of looking "old". It never looks good. Never! That said, I have to admit that it was a shock to see Ed look so old. I felt like a hypocrite for about 10 minutes and then I got used to him and he was still every bit as sexy as he'd ever been to me. Annette is lucky because she's every bit as beautiful as she ever was - age hasn't been cruel to her at all.

I wish we could get more movies like this with more older actors who are just themselves. Well, I know they're out there - British and Australian movies
especially. Just wish America would get ourselves straightened out.

Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once. ;)

I agree aks. So nice to see an actress allow herself to age gracefully. She looks great.

IMO, every since Annette Bening married Warren Beatty, she has attempted to appear at least her age, if not older, in order to soften the effect of Warren being 20+ years older than her. Don't get me wrong, I think she is still a beautiful woman, it just seems that her decision to not go the cosmetic enhancement thing might have something to do with being sensitive to a husband two decades older than herself.

Natural beauty trumps (I need to stop using that word) plastic every time.

They were both lovely and I enjoyed watching them.
