The ONLY and BEST way the movie should be made

make the first game into one movie to prove that there is an audience except film it as two separate movies that could come out six months apart. hype it up as, Pick a side! One story, two differ paths

Mass Effect: Paragon- Movie would be a 100% paragon path
Mass Effect: Renegade- Movie would be 100% renegade path

They could save money buy filming them together, cut them up so its a COMPLETLY different movie, but with the same(but different due to interacts) characters, same goals but different outcomes...yes the first two would have a lot in common but...

if the movie makes money, break game 2 into 2 movies

Mass Effect: Paragon 2
Mass Effect: Renegade 2
Mass Effect: Paragon 3
Mass Effect: Renegade 3

Have them all come out 6 months apart. The more movies, the more and more they would be different due to the decisions, more evil or more noble.

Then close it off by breaking the 3rd game into two titles

Mass Effect: Paragon 4
Mass Effect: Renegade 4
Mass Effect: Paragon 5
Mass Effect: Renegade 5

This would make a total of 10 movies, enough time to tell a lot of the story in a interesting way, a way no other movie has ever done... all along hype up WHAT SIDE TO YOU CHOOSE!

this would make so much money for the company, then 5 years after they release all of them, they could recut them into a master film that has the best of both Renegade and Paragon (Not something id really want to see, but they could make more money and as long as the movie gets made, I am happy)

I still think the best way is to forget the movie and make a tv show instead.

Always the artists.

Whether a TV show or a film I'd rather it was a new story set in the same universe than repeating the story and characters of the games.

Part of me wishes that someone adapted Shepard's story and fix some to the mistakes. Maybe deliver a better ending.

Always the artists.

reply

Yeah I 100% agree that they would need to fix the ending.

This has been my position all along, too. A Mass Effect series on HBO could tell the story so much better than some 2 hour Hollywood kitbash ever will.

I thought the same thing a few months ago, too. But then again, movies tend to have bigger budgets, and I don't want to see a season of Turians and Krogan done either with cheap CGI or plastic-looking practicals. This isn't just dragons that have some moments every other episode, these are major characters that need to be on screen most of the time. I hope HBO would have the budget for it (maybe it could replace Game of Thrones after its final season), and if they did I think they would be the best people to do it, but if they can't make it look not fake I really don't want a cheap looking Mass Effect series.

I can't really imagine Mass Effect as a movie. There's too much lore, story, and character development to all fit it into one. Honestly, I always saw it as a tv series. Like each individual game is a season and each mission is an episode. Just a thought.

reply

Can't do either - Your primary obstacle is always which gender Shepard should be.

What if they made the movie in the style of Sliding Doors; where events could play out one way, and the other way simultaneously!?

That's why my earlier suggestion of using the setting to tell other stories would work (as much as I'd like the games' stories to be fixed). Use a different medium as an opportunity to tell something new, not re-tell what we've already seen.

I wouldn't mind a tv show focusing on Anderson, the First Contact War and his run ins with Saren.
