Honestly expected more from the director being hailed as the "next" Miyazaki.
I could see the ambition and the world-building was pretty neat in some parts.
But it was just so pretentious and boring in general.
And I think it stole too much from Miyazaki's films such as Mononoke Hime, Laputa and so on and on.
Oh well, at least Hosoda Mamoru has yet to take a misstep.
It's ok; you can call them Princess Mononoke and Castle in the Sky.
While I do agree this film was not close to Studio Ghibli's masterpieces, I was not disappointed in it.
