That's got to be a mistake on Imdb's part no way is this rated G

I agree.

Why not?

Can't stop the signal.

The violence in the movie is at a PG-13 level.

There is a fair amount of blood and violence -even though it is animated.

This movie sits comfortably at a PG-13 rating.

No worse than Princess Mononoke.

Both Mononoke and this are labelled PG in the U.S. which I think is appropriate.

Nah, Mononoke is PG-13.

Agreed.
There's usage of guns, some blood and theme may not be suitable for very young children.
