Why the hell...

Did this not got renewed? I mean, I knew something was up when they did two shows per week (or something like that), but this show was good! The six episodes they showed were better than almost all of Whitney's episodes! Damn NBC...

I have no idea why it would even get greenlit only for them to show the entire run in 3 weeks. If they had no plans of giving it a shot why the hell would you order the 5 episodes after the pilot!?

I just finished watching this on Hulu+ and was dissappointed becuase I lost track of the episodes and though there was one more. But nope the show ends on a cliffhanger, and never had a shot at answering that question.

I mean this got a lot of critical praise and probably would have done nicely if it was aired over 6 weeks (or at the very least 5 with a 1-hour season finale or premiere), or at least nicely by NBC comedy standards. They are killing the success of their comedies, with all these mid-season changes and delayed starts to seasons. It doesn't take a genius to see that having Parks and Rec start mid-season every year hurts its viewership, and it certainly explains why 30 Rock has lost viewers and already had a relatively small viewer base, while the Office held strong up until Steve Carrel (sp?) left. They're 4 best comedies are The Office, Parks and Rec, 30 Rock and Community, yet they haven't aired at the same time to start the season or coming out of the winter break once since Community came into the fold.

Also they promoted the Crap out of BFFs and that show was critically panned and was effectively canceled by week 3 (I don't think it was canned officially until the new schedule was announced but every source knew it wasn't coming back). Had they given that same amount of promotion to Bent it would have gotten enough viewers to make a case for a second season, it may not have gotten one but it could have certainly had an argument as it was there was virtually no audience (heck I saw one promotion before the series started, and didn't see anything else about it until week 2 when they were promoting Eps 3 and 4).
