You obviously didn't watch it. This was a hilariously awesome zombie flick, as good as Shaun of The Dead, but in subtitles. Obviously the OP doesn't know how to read. This was filmed excellently and had a few vary memorable scenes.

I thought the guys praising the film here were probably involved in the making of it ......until I actually saw Juan of the Dead and I must say, I'm a believer now. Seriously, the film is awesome, must see if you're a fan of Shawn of the Dead or Zombieland. Juan of the Dead is a bit more outlandish, and sure, the tonal shifts can be out of place, but for the most part is a hysterical zombie comedy that's not afraid to poke fun at itself, Cuba, politics, USA and more.

Do yourself a favor, get over the language barrier (the fact you can read this lines already means you're half way there) thanks to English subtitles (or what ever rocks your boat) and watch Juan of the Dead.

It is actually very well shot. I have seen much worse from here in the States lately: Abraham Lincoln Vs. Zombies, Poe, and half a dozen low budget BS films made with really cheap cameras and no sound production - mostly to quickly cash in on similarly-themed Hollywood releases.

This movie has a good look and some truly decent effects. I was surprised. I liked it. The acting is very good. It is very humorous with a nice political satire at its heart.

I agree, even though I thought the movie was a total rip off of Shaun of the Dead with a Cuban setting. Production values are good, but the film is immensely derivative.🐭

I thought it was a very funny film with great characters and the gore was well done. It flagged a little bit in the middle but I had a fun watching it. Fans of zombie films will enjoy it

I'm starting to get sick of zombie films after 35 years of watching them, but I've heard nothing but good things about this. Going to watch it tonight.

You might be thinking of "Cloverfield". This was actually very well done. The people making the movie might not have had everything, but the did an exceptional job with what they had.

In the 'Making-Of-Featurete' they show that it was shot with two RED ONE cameras, combining "state-of-the-art technology with whatever they could use from the island."

Low budget does not equal bad movie. This film was clever and had heart, and I'll take that over high dollar CGI filled cash grabs any day of the week. I rated this movie 10/10 simply because despite their obvious limitations, they strived to make an entertaining film. The primary goal was to illicit laughter over dazzling the audience with special effects. In that respect the movie gets my unconditional love. This is one of my new favorites. Go watch Oblivion, dickweed.
