This is such a weird movie

They forgot to bring the magic. The story is interesting enough and I don't think it's particularly silly but it all falls flat me and the only moment with any emotional impact was when Eva Marie Saint opened her arms on first seeing Colin Farrell again. I don't think the casting is right and the music distracts me and doesn't help, but at the end of the day I guess we have to blame the director - he didn't find the right strings to pull. Oh, and he wrote it too - or condensed it down from a 1000 page book - so I guess he can't blame the script?
