Peter's accent

Unless I missed something, he should have spoken with an american accent. He was set ashore and washed up in NY as a baby. Russell Crowe and his nasty Irish accent wouldn't have impacted Peter since he didn't take him under his wing until later.

His accent was true to the book - he had an Irish accent in it as well.

Perhaps he grew up among a bunch of Irish-Americans.
