I don't know if it's just a matter of taste, but I found everything about Beverly to be so desirable as to give the film a (much needed) emotive resonance even leading to actual investment.

Her appearance, tone of voice, carefree attitude-while at the same time humble, gentle and somewhat naive worked in unison for making her a perfect fit for the role in the narrative.

Is it the same in the book, as far as her characteristics?
Ergo her being described in the perfect manner for what she's supposed to be in the context of the story.
Would you also say the actress made the character justice?
