Documentaries are for accuracy; movies are for enjoyment

Reading these posts reminded me of something a very good friend told me. He was watching a Saturday sports show that was (still is) very popular. I won't name it or the sky will come crashing down on me. I said to him that I couldn't understand why he liked the show; it was so obviously fake (not to mention cruel and brutal.) He answered that all week long he is working with facts, figures, logic, etc. He preferred to just watch movies and all shows and just enjoy them (and laugh at then when the situation called for it) for what they were rather than pick them apart. I have taken his philosophy and applied it to movies and shows I watch. Sometimes something so blatant comes through that I notice, but, for the most part, I now get much more enjoyment out of all television...movies, TV dramas, etc. I choose to enjoy rather than find fault. It has made my life much more pleasant.

On the opposite side, a program claiming to be a documentary should be 100% accurate.
