How old is...

I thought that Nolan, Emily/Amanda and Jack, Daniel and Charlotte and were supposed to be the same age -- 30 - mid 30's?

Nolan is 33 at the start of the show, 2011. Amanda was 27 at start of show, Daniel 24, Jack 27, Charlotte 17. Patrick is 39/40 by the time of his entry into the show.

It's not entirely clear. I believe he was 18 when David Clarke invested in his company, which would have had to have been prior to David's arrest/conviction. We know Amanda was about 6 when her father was arrested. So Nolan has to be at least 12 years older than her.

When Faux-manda died, they show her grave stone at least once, reflecting Amanda Clarke's date of birth. Since they switched identities, the birthday should be the real Amanda's actual birthday. I don't remember the exact date, only that it was in 1984 (same year I was born, which is why I remember). Also thought it was interesting since Emily VanCamp was born in 1986, she's actually playing a character older than herself - usually the opposite is true on TV, as we all know.

In the first season Declan is still high school age - we know he's under 18 because Jack became his guardian when their father died. I think it's safe to assume that Charlotte is close in age. Jack is a bit of a mystery - we only know that he and Amanda played together as children. In the flashback scenes, the kids look about the same age - Jack maybe being a year or two older.
