Ridiculous

I know that the producers were going for "terrifying" or "off putting" to have Aiden sitting on the couch with his mouth open like that when he died...

But it was almost comical.
YES, it was terrifying and off putting. But it was also just plain silly looking.

I bet you have never seen a dead person then. Almos no Tv show nor movie has the guts to show something like that.

reply

Um what? Law and Order, CSI, Buffy, Grey's Anatomy, Scandal, I could go on and on. That wasn't even a graphic scene. You see scenes that like in many, many tv shows.

And speaking of dead bodies, How long had he been dead when Emily found him that rigor motis had completely set in? It didn't look like much time has passed between Victoria leaving and Emily finding him.

Yes, actually I have seen REAL dead bodies before. :P

And I won't even comment on the rest. The person above gave quite a list, I could add hundreds to it.

reply

Sorry, but that was well played by him and it was actually kind of macabre. I didn't see anything funny about it.

Swing away, Merrill....Merrill, swing away...

reply

Go back and watch it again. His expressions change throughout (understandable due to the ridiculousness of the pose) and he almost seems to be smiling at one point.

I suppose I can see how having him propped up in the chair, Weekend at Bernie's-style, might be funny to some. But Emily VanCamp's performance was so strong in that scene. She made me sad about the death of a character I never liked.

"What race are you? If you don't tell me I'll just...assume the worst."

reply

I laughed.

I'd found the character yawn-making by then, so I wasn't displeased.
