Yeah I watched the trailer and there's no way. What's up with the WWII plot added on?

Have you forgotten that the original came from France and the Irish copied it many years later.

The Irish one is a complete remake of the French one. Sorry , but if you see the original French film you will realise it has no merit (Although I do like it) as they took the French film and just changed the setting. It piss me off when people think that the original is the Irish one.
At least this remake tries to be different and is more of a re-imagining. I liked it but the original will always be the best in my opinion!

The Irish one was better. The French can't do charming and quaint. Its not for them. So they just ruined it twice.

Just so that you can take back your previous statement about the french ;-).
Cheers.

"The French can't do charming and quaint"
Wow! How many French film have you seen "tiered of the net" ?
I am Irish from my mother side and French from my father's side and believe me the French can do charming and quaint films just as good as the Irish if not at times better , the issue is you will not know this unless you either speak French fluently or seek some hard to find films with English subtitles !
But on top of my head "My fathers glory" , "Le grand chemin" , "The Chorist" "Jean de florette" the French made some awesome "charming and quaint" films!!! lol And I do love Irish films as well "Into the west" is an all time favourite of mine.

Perhaps we didn't see the same film because this one was totally charming and quaint. Come on the little guy ... running in his coat of armor bucket???

And there are plenty of other charming and quaint French films as the one poster skillfully pointed out. Let me just throw in Forbidden Games (IMDB rating 7.9) and Au Revoir Les Enfants (IMDB Rating 8.1) to emphasize your silliness

So they just ruined it twice.

More silliness ... that is hardly possible when you remember that the original was French.

So ya what's up with the French Hating Silliness?
